Some of you have noticed that we've been sneaking some upgrades to Compass on select models of BlackBerry phone, most notably the Torch 9800. We're very close to releasing version 1.2 of Compass for all models.
As a sneak peek, and in response to the many enquiring minds, here’s what’s coming in Compass v.1.2 for all models:
RELEASE NOTES

We've made some improvements to Compass over the past year or so since its original release. Our thanks go out to the many users who have offered their kind advice and suggestions.
CHANGES
------------------------------------
- Added ALTITUDE readout and modified backgrounds to accommodate it
- Added professional translations in 4 languages
- Automatically skip the permission necessary to keep the screen lit if the permission is set to 'Deny' by a BES Administrator’s policy on the phone
- Increased the significant digits to Heading and Lat/Long readouts and modified backgrounds to accommodate them
- Increased GPS connection attempts from 4 to 7 to allow more time for the GPS chip to initialize
- Time format in the header uses the format set by the user in Options > Date/Time
FIXES

- corrected Degrees Decimal Minutes conversion inaccuracy
- corrected compass rose scaling error on OS 6.0 models
- corrected BB Maps recognition error on OS 6.0 models
Compass v.1.2 is scheduled for release in the last week of November, 2010.
